There is nothing against feeding puppies this food for a short time. However, we do not recommend permanent feeding, as the food contains too little phosphorus for this and the trace elements are somewhat too scarce for the needs of puppies.

(Polished rice or even rice flour has a lower phosphate content compared to brown rice, also compared to e.g. liver).

The phosphorus content of the corresponding articles is within the range of the FEDIAF recommendation of 0.30 g/MJ (for adult cats), at approx. 0.18 - 0.25%.

We would like to point out that we do not offer special feed with a particularly low phosphorus content.

We declare on our flyer the phosphorus content in the two varieties for kittens, because it is especially important for the very young cats not to have too much phosphorus in the food. The phosphorus content in the adult products is in accordance with the FEDIAF regulations:

The question about the Ca/P ratio often comes from customers whose cats suffer from CNI (chronic renal insufficiency). We would therefore like to explicitly mention that LandFleisch Cat is a complete food for healthy cats and not a special diet or recovery food to support the kidney function in CNI.

In almost all industrially produced cat food carcass and gullet parts are contained but also sometimes more or sometimes less salts, so that the Jodeinträge from different raw components will have in most cases.

Carbohydrates is a collective term for sugars and substances similar to them in structure and reaction behaviour.

Carbohydrates are present in every living cell. Nevertheless, their occurrence is quantitatively and qualitatively quite different. In plants, carbohydrates are found in large quantities, mainly as typical skeletal substances (e.g. cellulose, hemicellulose, pectins) and reserve substances (e.g. starch). The animal organism also contains KH. They are mainly used and stored for the production of energy and carbon atoms (e.g. glycogen = animal starch) or are components of cartilage, tendons and connective tissue as scaffolding substances (mucopolysaccharides). In some invertebrates, the polysaccharide chitin also serves to form structure.

The KH are classified into three main groups:

• Monosaccharides (simple sugars)
• Oligosaccharides (multiple sugars consisting of 2 to 10 monosaccharide units)
• Polysaccharides (multiple sugars, biopolymers consisting of more than 10, usually at least 100 monosaccharide units)

Under the term Nitrogen-free extractives (NfE) all easily soluble and small intestine digestible sugars, starch, pectins, glycogen, soluble parts of the skeletal substances and organic acids are summarized in the feed analysis under Crude fibre (Rfa) that part of a feedstuff which remains as an "indigestible" component after treatment with dilute acids and alkalis, e.g. cellulose (polysaccharide). The crude fibre and NfE fractions therefore contain mainly carbohydrates and some associated substances (e.g. lignin).

No "sugars" in the sense of mono- and disaccharides, such as glucose, fructose or sucrose, are added to the LandFLeisch-Cat articles. However, in the articles containing carrots, "sugar" is added natively. This also applies to root parsley.

Our Landfleisch products for cats cover their needs with regard to their ingredients.

In accordance with the natural eating habits of cats, our products contain a high, highly digestible meat content and partly also naturally concentrated sources of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. In addition, they are enriched with other essential vitamins and minerals and supplemented or completed with cereals and vegetables.

The percentage of meat and animal by-products is above 60% in all recipes.

We, like many other manufacturers, use the Groupsdeclaration. What you would like to know is an individual declaration. This is roughly equivalent to a recipe, which we do not want to disclose for obvious reasons.

For each complete food recipe, a basic meat mass is produced consisting of different meat varieties and offal. A higher proportion of one type of meat is used for the selection of the respective variety.

67% Meat and animal by-products (of which 20% from beef) means: 

67% canned meat and animal by-products. Of which, for example, at least 20% from beef.

We do not use beaks, claws, feathers or other waste products that cannot be recycled. You can rely on that!

However, these are then considerably more expensive.

This form of feeding becomes important whenever dogs are nutritionally sensitive and cannot tolerate certain types of meat. This is becoming more and more common due to the variety of breeds.

If your dog does not show any abnormalities, then you do not need to give such a food, then your dog is very well nourished with LandFleisch Dog, which he shows you by his vitality and great coat every day.

According to the latest European legislation and the German feed law based on it, feed manufacturers are subject to an obligation to declare the raw materials used. These raw materials can and may be indicated with their designation as individual feedstuffs, e.g. muscle meat, breast fillet, heart, liver, lungs, etc.. Equally permissible is the designation of the Categoryto which the feed material belongs, e.g. "meat and animal by-products".

We understand animal by-products to be high-quality offal from slaughtered animals approved for human consumption, such as heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, rumen.

Our meat suppliers regularly have their slaughtered animals tested for antibiotics according to a test plan. So far there have been no complaints. We have various analyses that confirm this. By the way, it should be said that we only use meat and high-quality animal by-products (such as heart, liver, kidney) from slaughtered animals whose meat is also approved for human consumption.

The pollock we use comes from a farm and not from overfished regions. We pay a lot of attention to that.

We reject animal testing as a matter of principle. Our suppliers do not keep animals for experimental purposes either.

By using good and proven raw materials, we can completely do without fillers, preservatives and flavor enhancers. Of course, we also want to see the quality of our goods confirmed and therefore we "test" the good taste with our own pet dogs and cats or with carefully selected private households. Of course, each product batch is checked immediately after completion in our laboratory for analytical components, sterilization processes, odor and appearance, so that it is guaranteed that only good goods are delivered. 

The liver extract comes from chicken.

We do not use K3. It is not included in the LandFleisch can.

We do not use artificial preservatives, because a can is a fully canned product. The shelf life is achieved by heating.

It is not possible to do without preservatives. A feed with a moisture content of over 12% would otherwise become mouldy. This concerns all semi-moist products on the market.

However, since some preservatives are not declarable, other manufacturers do not mention them on the packaging. However, this does not mean that no preservatives are contained.

A distributor is always obliged to provide information. Therefore, if the customer asks whether and which preservatives are contained, this question must be answered truthfully.

Our LandFleisch products without pasta are guaranteed grain-free. If your dog is sensitive to gluten, you should not use products with rice. Our products with potatoes are gluten and grain free. We also offer sensitive products that are free of everything.

We only use vegetable fats. Coconut oil/coconut fat contains no ingredients that are toxic to dogs - so coconut oil is not toxic to dogs. However, some dogs can be allergic to coconut. So if your dog suffers from other allergies, you should test coconut oil carefully.

Dogs with certain pre-existing conditions should not be fed coconut oil. In the first place dogs with diabetes mellitus. The oil is metabolized in the body to ketones.
